The
This course has a country club atmosphere. A dress code is fully enforced. No white or blue jeans are allowed.
The staff was accomodating when we needed a pair of windpants. Thanks to them coming up with a pair, we passed
the dress code.
The Gauntlet is a challenging course. The rough was dormain Bermuda.
The fairways were mowed very close. It was very diffult to pick the
ball clean. In February, this is not a pictureque course.
It is located upon 200 acres of marsh. There was not much wildlife and very
few trees. St. James had deep sand traps and many of them at very strategic locations. It ended up
being a hard days work before the round was complete.
There was allot of construction equipment near the greens. Two or three
holes we had over 1/2 dozen
workers with equipment moving all over. It was very difficult to keep your
mind in the game.
We would not recommend playing the Gauntlet at St. James in February.
