Stonehenge Golf Club is located 100+ miles east of Nashville, Tennessee, in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. Fairfield Glade is located just 8 miles off of Interstate 40 near the Crab Orchard Mountains located on the Cumberland Plateau. We stayed in a villa at Fairfield Glade and had a 8:21 tee time at Stonehenge. We arrived a bit early but the golf course personnel was very willing to let us tee off early and we got to play the round with just the two of us.

The fairways and greens at Stonehenge are bentgrass. The course was damp. The course measures 6,202 yards. Par for this course is 72. The rating is 70.6 and the slope is 130 from the white tees. The fairways are narrow and rolling. Sandtraps guard all 18 holes. Stonehenge offers you great practice on those sand shots! Water comes into play on 5 holes and if you get alittle wild with your tee shot you could reach it on two other holes. There are 4 par threes, with hole #-14 being the most spectacular. Hole #-15 is one of the five par fives, you tee off a 75 foot cliff with a large body of water to carry from the white tee.

Stonehenge was in great shape. The course personel was most friendly. The greens were quite fast. The course on a whole played long. You needed to add a club on nearly every shot. With the damp bentgrass fairways you got no roll.

Stonehenge is designed where you don't have to worry about stray balls coming from another fairway, since on all holes but 18 and 1, 5 and 6, you feel as though you have the course to yourself.

You can spot wildlife at Stonehenge. Just as we were approaching the tee off box on hole #-10 a deer crossed the fairway. On hole #-16 we spotted the cute little critter pictured below. You can see from the picture he is a real ham.

After the round of golf we ate at Cancun Canteen in Crossville. They have a great Mexican buffet!
