Iron Eagle Golf Course
North Platte Nebraska
All-In-One Golf Source Review
Golf Course Description-This course opening in 1994. Iron Eagle is a eighteen hole golf course located next to the South Platte River. As it is a dry year in Nebraska, much of the waterways were dried up. The narrow tree lined fairways are designed for the accurate driver. Thirteen of the eighteen holes have water within a poor shot. Hole #1 will test you from the start with the South Platte River bordering the high side of the green.
Iron Eagle measures 6401 from the blues, 5883 from the whites, 5092 from the reds and 4459 from the gold tees. This a par 72 course with two par threes and two par fives on each nine. The par threes range from 104 yards to 166 yards from the whites. They are short par threes from the red tees measuring 150, 88, 92 and 108 yards.
The back nine are open links style. Where the front nine measures 3044 yards, the back nine measures 2839 yards. The front nine have Cottonwood trees lining the fairways.
Course Conditions-Iron Eagle has sustained wetlands throughout the course. With our dry condition this year. This course played much easier that it should have. The course was not maintained very well.
Uniqueness of this course-The closeness to the river. This course has been flooded in wet years.
