Rocky Knolls Golf Course
Custer, South Dakota

All-In-One Golf Source Reviews:
We golfed Rocky Knolls twice. The first time was 6:00 PM on September 26, 1998. We stopped at the clubhouse to see if there was a tee time available and the course was nearly vacant. We got nine holes in just before dark.
The first hole is a par five. The fairway narrows to approximately 30 yards after about 220 yards. Your second shot is between pine trees on both sides and large boulders are located on your left. In the middle of our second shot we saw two whitetail deer running in the pine trees, only twenty yards from where we were hitting. Hole #2 is a par 3 with a large boulder fortressing the back of the green.
The second time we golfed Rocky Knolls was the next morning at 8:00 AM. Our walk between hole #2 and the tee box on #3 we encountered a buck deer lying in the grass just on the other side of the fence (only 15 feet) from where we were walking and he went undisturbed.

Between the wildlife and the scenery at Rocky Knolls it was a great time. The cost was-$ 24.96 per round for two. We had a great time at Rocky Knolls, I would recommend it to any golfer. We are going back in 2000!

You are within miles of the Custer State Park. It is worth the time spent to enjoy the widelife and beautiful scenery in this state park. You will see buffalo, big horn sheep, prairie dogs, and more deer.
And all of this is just a short drive from Mt. Rushmore!
Recommend to anyone.... a vacation to this area!!!
